What are the 72 names of D...? In Judaism D... has no name because it is something that goes beyond all forms of definition. The word Elohim (D..) is made from the mention: EL, ELA and ELIM which means one (woman), one (man) and many.

The word YEHOVAH (also D...) is made of the words HAYA, Hove, YIHEYE which means what was, what is and will be.

This name has just shown us that our perception of time: past, present and future is elusive.

According to the Jewish tradition there is a formula or a name which defines the name of D... This name is made of 216 letters. The origin of the name is in Exodus 14.
By dividing the 216 letters of the sentence (in Hebrew) by 3, this gives us 72 combinations of 3 letters. The combination of the 72 letter trios, placed in a certain order gives us the secret. Apparently, this is a formula that is common to all things in existence. In the old days, when the Holy Temple still existed, once a year, and only on Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, the Grand Cohen (High Priest) dressed in white entered the inner sanctum of the Holy Temple. People were waiting outside the temple.
The COHEN had to pronounce the 72 names of Gd. Only a COHEN could pronounce them. If his heart was pure, he would live, if his heart was not pure, he would die. It was wonderful to see the great COHEN, the Holy of Holies, come out of the Temple.

But the Romans killed the last COHEN and the secret was lost forever...
